The School of Historical Studies awards a limited number of bursaries to students embarking on the MRes in Philosophy. The Philosophy Master of Research Bursary is available for both full-time students (over one year) and part-time students (over two years).
The MRes in Philosophy is designed to provide students with research-based training in philosophy and also to serve as a foundation for starting an individual PhD project.
ELIGIBILITY
- All applicants meeting the following criteria are eligible to be considered for the Master of Research bursary:
- Merit or Upper Second Class equivalent MA in Philosophy
- or, exceptionally, excellent First Class equivalent BA in Philosophy.
VALUE
- As a partial tuition fee waiver, the value of each bursary is £4,000 for full-time students or £2,000 per annum over two years for part-time students.
HOW TO APPLY
- Selection for these bursaries will be made by the School's Postgraduate Research Standing Committee, based on academic record, two academic references, a research proposal of up to 1000 words and a sample of written work of up to 5000 words.
- All eligible applicants will be entered for the bursary unless they request otherwise.
